As Headteacher, It is my pleasure to welcome you to St. James’ CE First School and Nursery.

I have had the pleasure of being headteacher here for over ten years now and feel incredibly proud to say that myself and the team drive a culture of outstanding educational provision whilst preparing our children for life in the fast-paced modern world they are growing up into.

At the heart of our village community, our church school and nursery vision—Make great choices, be our best—is the guiding force behind everything we do. Starting with our very youngest children, our ethos and culture of compassion, inclusivity and wellbeing ensures that all of our children are developing the foundation they need to flourish.

Set in a delightful rural location, our church school and nursery benefits from large open-plan classrooms, plenty of outdoor learning space and a well-established forest school. We have a strong and stable team of friendly dedicated staff who are committed to providing a high-quality learning environment and whom deliver a creative, child-led curriculum. Whilst our children excel at Maths and English, we are careful to balance this with an interactive, innovative and fun approach to all subjects.

Above all, our ambition is to enable our pupils to be the very best they can be in life. By getting to know every pupil, inspiring them to achieve more than they thought possible and instilling a belief that there are no limits to what they can achieve, our pupils achieve, enjoy and thrive in all areas of nursery and school life.

It would be my pleasure to show you around or talk to you over the telephone and discuss your child joining the St.James' that we are so very proud of.

Please feel free to contact the school and nursery directly to book your tour or with any queries you may have on office@alderholt.dorset.sch.uk or 01425 653063.
