St. James' C.E. First School, Alderholt

Welcome to St. James' School.

Located in the East Dorset village of Alderholt, our school serves the local community, providing a happy, caring and secure atmosphere for children aged 4 to 9 years.

As a 'Church of England' school we aim to offer to children of all faiths, not only a high standard of education, but also the opportunity to get to know God through our faith. Each child is encouraged to work to their full potential, in a disciplined and confident manner.

We aim to serve our community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promote Christian values through the experience our school offers to all its pupils.

Activemark

Congratulations to all staff and children as we have recently been awarded the National ‘Activemark Award'.

This award is given for exceptional delivery of the National School Sport Strategy. Our school had to achieve the criteria and minimum standards which are that 90% or more of our pupils do 2 hours of PE and sport a week, we have an annual sports day and the school had met or bettered the national average for the range of sports it offers.
